Practical Engineering Concept Accepted for Riverside Industrial Sands Terminal

To ensure the continuing supply of high-quality low-impurity sand to the Brisbane construction industry Riverside Industrial Sands engaged Practical Engineering to design the CV1 waterfront conveyor replacement and wharf upgrades for their Newstead facility. These RPEQ certified designs, delivered on time in 2021, required expertise in structural design, materials handling, and mechanical assessment.

Building on this success, Practical Engineering are pleased to announce that we have been selected by Riverside Industrial Sands to lead the concept & detailed design of their new Anton Rd sand processing terminal. This project requires a site layout optimised for operations, integration with existing maritime assets, detailed engineering design of a new pier incorporating three hoppers and a transfer conveyor, access systems, utilities, and refuelling facilities. Our multi-disciplinary team and integration with industry partners allows us to deliver a complete design package including marine, civil and electrical works.

With the completion and acceptance of our cost-efficient concept we have begun the path to operational reliability and flexibility while achieving excellent capacity in a restricted footprint. We are excited to deliver this project and see the Riverside Industrial Sands team move from strength to strength.
